It’s only the end of January, but as I drove around yesterday with staff writer Bill Kirk to see how area residents faired following yesterday’s snow it looked like months of snow piled high along city streets. It kind of makes you wonder exactly how much snow we can handle before you simply cannot move it. And February is usually a very busy month when it comes to snowfall.

Snow is predicted for Saturday night and next Wednesday. So far, Saturday looks light, but when you’re dealing with snow depths like we already have, “light” is relative. As several folks pointed out yesterday, it IS New England afterall. Although speaking for myself, I think I’ve gotten a little soft given the last few winters of relatively light snowfall.

    You Know It's Cold Outside…….

    When your nose hairs freeze.

You can feel your make-up thawing out when you go indoors.

Dogs and cats walk on tiptoe to go out and do their business.

They are picking up their shed fur and making blankets.

Dogs and cats use the human's toilet because they don't want to go outside.

Claw marks on the door frame and your arms, because they refuse to go outside.

They get revenge when they do venture outdoors, by not coming when called, and you have to go out in the cold to make them come in.

Some clever cats are selling their fur to other animals at an inflated cost.
