Noah R. Bombard

Noah R. Bombard is a journalist and new media editor working in Central and Eastern Massachusetts since 1997. He is the online editor for the Telegram & Gazette’s community websites TelegramTowns and is co-founder of Worcester Wired Media, an experiment in non-profit online media in the city of Worcester, which partners with area college students and engages them in covering the city and learning journalism skills.

Noah previously worked as the new media editor for The Eagle-Tribune in North Andover, Mass. Prior to that he was theĀ editor in chief of Worcester Magazine and a managing editor at Community Newspaper Company.

Noah grew up in South Glens Falls, N.Y. and moved to Massachusetts while attending Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster. He lives in Clinton overlooking the Wachusett Dam.

He was named serious columnist of the year by the New England Newspaper Association in 2003 and has earned industry awards for writing, newspaper design and in 2006 accepted an award for newspaper of the year for the Times & Courier, a weekly covering Clinton and Lancaster, Mass.

Behind the Headlines was started in 2007 by Noah as a blog attached to the Times & Courier newspaper. It started as a way to include perspectives and background on stories appearing in the Times & Courier. The blog continued at The Eagle-Tribune and is now hosted independently.
